About me

I’m Adebayo Tolu, a registered nurse based in Sokoto State, Nigeria. I’m CEO of Academic Nightingale, founder of InstitutionApp and CTO of Network Paper.

Healthcare, teaching and software

My background is in nursing and health information management. I also teach and supervise nursing students. Explaining difficult topics is a part of my work that I take seriously. A student should understand what they are learning and be able to use it.

That same interest runs through the products I build. Academic Nightingale supports nursing students with daily CBT practice and explanations. InstitutionApp provides a dedicated place for teaching and learning. NMCNCheck helps people explore nursing schools and the information available about them.

Working with intelligent systems

I spend a great deal of time working with large language models and AI agents. I enjoy understanding what they can do, giving them clear direction and using them as part of a practical software-building process.

My experience is hands-on. I use these systems while developing products and managing work across codebases. I care about the quality of the result, how quickly it can be improved and whether the finished product is useful to the person using it.

I’m also the founder and president of the School of Artificial Intelligence. AI education is part of the work I want to keep building.

What I value in a product

I like software that is fast, easy to understand and comfortable to use. In education, that means a learner can get to a lesson, take a test and understand the feedback without fighting the interface. I build with room for the product to grow, and keep improving it as people use it.

What I believe

I believe in action. Dreams matter to me, and I like bringing them into reality through the work of building.

“I believe in action, over dreaming.”
